Menopause/ perimenopause care

What is menopause and perimenopause?
Menopause is defined as the cessation of menstrual periods for 12 consecutive months, typically occurring between the age of 45 and 55. Perimenopause, the transitional phase leading up to menopause, can begin several years before menopause and is characterised by fluctuating hormone levels and irregular menstrual cycles. As estrogen levels decline, significant health risks -cardiovascular, dementia, diabetes and osteoporosis risk increases. Early informed choices can help reduce and protect women to keep them strong and healthy through their postmenopausal years.
